Exploring Trolley Stop #9: Upper Main Street

[caption id="attachment_489" align="aligncenter" width="3000"] Trolley Stop #9[/caption] Added when the trolley's transportation district was expanded in 2014, Trolley Stop #9 gives riders easy access to shopping and dining at the top of the Main Street hill, affectionately called "Hamburger Hill" by locals because it's home to several fast-food restaurants. This stop is located on the access road between Chick-fil-A and McDonald's. It is best used to access the businesses on the north side of Main Street between 5th Street and U.S. Highway 65. Liberty Tree Lives on in Downtown Branson’s Renovations

[caption id="attachment_456" align="aligncenter" width="1000"] The parking sign at Commercial and Pacific streets is one of many places downtown you can see the Liberty Tree icon.[/caption] Longtime Branson residents and visitors remember the Liberty Tree, a more than 200-year-old bur oak tree along the Branson Landing waterfront. The tree served as a landmark and gathering place throughout much of the city’s first century. Thanks to the Downtown Branson streetscape project, the historic tree’s memory is preserved in a number of ways. If you look closely, you’ll notice that in many places — such as atop each of downtown’s new street signs — is a Liberty Tree emblem. July 4th Fireworks Light up Branson Sky

If you and your family enjoy fireworks, the Branson area is THE place to be in the days leading up to July 4th. Branson Landing’s 10th Annual Liberty Light Up is Monday, July 3, 2017. The popular event starts with a free concert by Jason Pritchett in the town square followed by a fireworks display over Lake Taneycomo. The fireworks show is also visible from most spots along Main Street. For a unique view of the downtown fireworks, the SKY Deck at Parakeet Pete’s Waterfront Zipline is holding it’s 2nd annual “Fire in the SKY” event beginning at 7:30 p.m. on July 3rd. Branson's Law Enforcement Recognition Week is June 10-17, 2017. The area-wide series of events spans the entire region from Downtown Branson to Silver Dollar City to the Bass Pro Outdoor Shooting Academy south of town.
