It's (almost) always a First-Sunday-in-December Branson Tradition... the Adoration Parade. Because Thanksgiving weekend spills over into December this year, the parade has been moved to Sunday, Dec. 8 at 5 p.m. The 71st annual, noncommercial Adoration Parade celebrates the true spirit of Christmas and features local organizations and high school marching bands and performers of all kinds. Sometimes even calling Saint Nicholas himself out. But have no fear... the giant Adoration Scene nativity will be lit as usual on the First Sunday for people visiting Branson on Thanskgiving Weekend. It's been a Branson tradition for nearly nine decades now, dating all the way back to the first parade held here marking Armistice Day and honoring our WWI veterans. Since then, that solemn observance has grown and become one of the largest Veterans Day observances in the country, drawing thousands of veterans and their families from across America. In recent years, it has been organized by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapter 913. This event is for children in costume, up to 12 years old. Kids are encouraged to go from store-to-store to collect treats, stickers, coupons and other goodies. Costumes, masks, LOTS of free candy. After more than a year of construction on the north end of Branson Landing, the new Paula Deen's Family Kitchen opened on Labor Day 2019. The 15,696-SF restaurant and store is one of the largest in Downtown Branson and directly adjacent to Sparky Trolley Stop #O6. Paula Deen's is open for lunch and dinner and the menu focuses on traditional Southern dishes, each showcasing some of the celebrity chef's favorite recipes. Diners pick from among several main course and side dish options, and then the entire table shares a meal "family style" with plates of refills waiting in the kitchen. The Bulldogs are back! Get ready. As the Missouri Bully Classic returns, so will hundreds of the states finest dogs. All of them preparing to enter the ring and strut for the title of Best In Show. The whole showdown happens at the Convention Center, Saturday August 31st. The Convention Center is located downtown right by Sparky Stop #O3.
