Downtown Streetscape Renovations Taking Place April – October, 2025

You may remember the first phases of the Downtown Branson “streetscape” upgrades that took place in 2017. These beautification projects added sidewalks, brick pavers, streetlights, planters… and Liberty Plaza. Since then, there have been numerous other additions like a covered trolley stop and public bathroom renovations.

There was always a planned “Phase 4” of the project that was going to do significant upgrades to Main Street, the busiest corridor in downtown. Now, after a few years, work is finally getting underway on April 1, 2025, with an anticipated completion date of Oct. 15, 2025. To reduce long-term disruptions, the city has approved a 24-hour construction schedule throughout the duration of the project.

The project will be completed in sub-phases to ensure continued access to businesses for residents and visitors alike.

  1. Phase 1 and 1A (April – Early June): Main Street between Veterans Boulevard and Commercial Street and the intersection of Commercial and Main Street
  2. Phase 2 and 2A (Early June – October): Main Street between Commercial Street and Sycamore Street and the intersection of Sycamore and Main Street

To ensure safe and smooth traffic flow in conjunction with pedestrian safety, the city will implement clearly marked detours around construction zones. Signage will be placed throughout the downtown area to help guide residents and visitors through alternative routes.

The work will affect the free Downtown Branson Trolley Stop #5 (Main and Commercial Streets) from April through June (and possibly at other times due to detours). When this stop is unavailable, the trolleys will proceed from Stop #4 (Price Street) directly to Stop #6 (Branson Landing North End). To access the Main / Commercial Streets area via trolly, please plan to use Stop #7 (Awberry Parking Lot) or Stop #12 (Liberty Plaza).

And you can always find the nearest trolley using our real-time GPS trolley tracker.

Thank you for your patience as our city works to spruce up and make improvements to our historic downtown!
