Walking, jogging or pushing a stroller?
Imagine this. It’s an early Ozarks fall morning. The sun is rising but still hidden behind Mount Branson. Fog is floating just above the water on Lake Taneycomo and you are beginning your run along a paved path or the boardwalk in Downtown Branson. A Great Blue Heron spots you from across the lake and silently takes flight. A trout angler is floating by and nods as you pass. You strain to hear the quiet zip as the fly and line dance above the water, finally settling quietly on the surface.
Sounds great right?
Did you know that MapMyRun has more than 700 walking and jogging trails listed in the Branson area? And some of the most popular ones (especially with stroller joggers) are in Downtown Branson. Branson has always been known for its scenery, shops, and of course…its famous shows! If you’re in town and the hotels gym just isn’t cutting it…here’s some great places to keep up your exercise routine and get a sweat on! And if you’re local, well these are definitely for you too!
Branson Landing Boardwalk
From the North Branson Landing parking lot, a 1.5 mile concrete path leading alongside Lake Takeycomo and past the famous Branson Landing fountains. If you go north, you’ll connect with the Roark Trail. Go south, and you’ll connect with the Sunset Park.
Roark Trail
This 3.2 mile trail connects the Branson Landing Boardwalk with Stockstill Park. At this popular public park you can find Branson’s dog park, ballfields, a skate park, and a footbridge that crosses Roark Creek, which feeds into Lake Taneycomo.
The Hilton Route
An 8.25 mile dual bike and jogging route, it’s definitely the longest in Downtown. The Hilton Route is great for experienced joggers and cyclists, and provides an acceptable yet conquerable challenge for the beginner alike. Starting at Coon Creek and looping around Historic Downtown, it finally connects at the end with the Branson Landing.
Sunset Walking Path
The shortest and easiest of all the different routes available in Downtown, this .6 mile leisure path is light at night and has workout stations along the way. It follows the Lake and Sunset Park and loops around the popular disc golf course.
