After the exciting addition of Andy B’s and H&M in 2018, new things are in the works for Downtown Branson in 2019!
New at Branson Landing
The Landshark Bar and Grill (of Jimmy Buffet/Margaritaville fame) is coming this year to the Town Square on the Landing, taking over the former Texas Land and Cattle location.
A new building is being constructed at the north end of the Landing for a much anticipated new addition: Paula Deen’s Family Kitchen! The new restaurant is just steps away from the Sparky Trolley Stop #O6. Paula herself was in Branson last year scouting for the perfect place to showcase her remarkable brand. She settled on the Landing! Lucky for us! Traditional southern style home cooking and Paula’s unique shop are coming our way!
A new pizza company, Mellow Mushroom, will be coming up from Atlanta, Georgia and joining us in Branson. The stone fired pizza group has had the same philosophy since ‘74, to make the most crave-able delicious pizza on the planet! We can’t wait to experience the family friendly environment filled with art that is showcased in all of their privately owned locations.
Events and Live Shows
This year is also a great time to experience the arts in downtown, with a full slate of live shows and events planned for 2019.
The Branson Arts Council, housed in the Historic Owen Theatre on Commercial Street, has the following live stage productions scheduled for the year:
- Feb 21-24 and Mar 1-3 – Disney Beauty and the Beast – The Broadway Musical
- Apr 4 -15 – Into the Woods
- May 2 -5 – Chicago The Musical
- June 6 -9 – Shrek Jr. The Musical
- July 18 -21 – 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee – a Tony Award Winner
- Aug 29 – Sept 1 – Steel Magnolias
- Sept 19 -23 – Of Mice and Men
- Oct 31 – Nov 10 – South Pacific
- Dec 5 – 15 – White Christmas
In addition to mainstay downtown events like the Autumn Daze Festival (September) and Veterans Day Parade (November) and Adoration Parade (December), there’s also a brand new festival taking place in downtown June 7-8: The Branson Marble and Glass Festival. Based in Awberry Parking lot between Main and Atlantic Streets, the event will feature arts and crafts as well as an area-wide marble hunt.
Memorial Day marks the kickoff for the season of live music in Downtown! Our most recent live venue addition to downtown is definitely the Liberty Plaza. Get ready for a slew of talented musicians from all over the Ozarks this year! Liberty Light up is slated for July 3th again this year as well! That’s definitely a celebration not to be missed.
Stay tuned! More is always coming to the greatest Downtown in the Midwest!
