Thousands of people from all over the Midwest — many dressed as their favorite sci-fi, anime, and comic book heroes — come to Downtown Branson for Visioncon, the region’s largest celebration of fandom. There are celebrity Q&A’s, tons of art, a costume contest, and so very much more. Last year alone boasted an attendance of over 4,000!
Here is everything you need to know to prepare for this year’s extravaganza.
The Hilton Branson Convention Center is where you’ll need to be. The fun begins Friday February 23rd and continues through to Sunday. More information and the full schedule is available here: https://visioncon.net/
Registration Table Hours:
Friday: 12 pm-9 pm
Saturday: 9 am-9 pm
Sunday: 9 am-12 pm
Weekend Badge: Adults $55, Teens 13-17 $40
Day Badge until 9pm: Adults $40, Teens 13-17 $30
There are tons of activities and vendors this year, including an auction, costume contest, a photo-op room and a very intense schedule of actors and artists! A few of the famous faces this year include Casper Van Dien, seen in Starship Troopers and Sleepy Hollow and Keegan Connor Tracy, seen in Once Upon A Time, Bates Motel, and is in her third season of The Magicians.
Proceeds this year’s event will be donated to Habitat for Humanity, a well-known organization that has helped thousands of people, including many in Southwest Missouri, build suitable housing.
And of course, the free Sparky downtown trolleys will be running all weekend. The trolleys operate Thursday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
